Fall Activities in Columbia Heights

Fall is officially here and that means the already unique and diverse neighborhood of Columbia Heights gets even prettier with the changing colors and cooler temperatures.  Meridian Park is an already beautiful place to be any time of the year but as the cooler days and more colorful leaves approach, it’s a beautifully natural space to bring family or just enjoy some peace and quiet this fall. And did we mention it’s the perfect place for a romantic picnic?? Come check it out!

Have you visited the Columbia Heights Green? If you didn’t make by in the summer, there’s no better time than fall to stop by and experience this unique community garden space and snatch some of the seasonal produce! Also, stop by on Tuesday, October 19th at 6pm to celebrate the Mid-Atlantic’s Fall bounty and the farmers that keep our neighborhood tables full. This year’s Feast will take place outside on the rooftop of The LINE Hotel in Adams Morgan. Filled with urban gardens, the roof offers stunning views of Rock Creek Park and the gorgeous changing colors as well as a panoramic view of downtown DC, right down to the Potomac. You don’t want to miss out.

Lastly, you can enjoy a delicious outdoor meal at restaurants in the area that are just as colorful with their flavors as the leaves will soon be on the trees. RedRocks Columbia Heights and El Chucho offer outdoor dining options that are great to take advantage of in the cooler weather while you enjoy the awesome flavors and fare they serve! Take full advantage of the first day of fall this week, get out and explore this amazing “hidden gem” of a neighborhood.
