A diverse suburb, one of the earliest in DC, Columbia Heights serves as a melting pot for locals and cultures to come together and create a vibe like none other! Located on the Columbia Heights Civic Plaza, a vibrant gathering space for the locals in one of DC’s most diverse neighborhoods is the Columbia Heights farmer’s market.  This immense and robust market boasts a wide variety of vendors as diverse as the locals!  With products ranging from fresh produce, to authentic Mexican food prepared with locally grown ingredients, this market offers selections as dynamic as the neighborhood itself. You can find everything from baked goods, bread, cheese, dairy, and of course delicious locally grown produce. This specific location is open Wednesdays from 4pm to 7pm Saturdays 9am to 1pm. Looking for a musical experience that transports you to another level? Come experience the 40 year strong tradition of “Rhythm in the Park: Drum Circle”. that is still going strong in Meridian Hill/Malcolm X Park. Every Sunday at 3pm, the park is filled with drums, dances and life. What started as a small group of African American drummers and dancers has blossomed into a multicultural mix of tight-rope walkers, yoga lovers, and even jugglers! People say the drum circle gives them a spiritual and social lift that’s hard to find anywhere else in Washington. Every Sunday here is inviting and positive, so bring the whole family to this truly one of a kind celebration. 

If you love a good adventure filled with history, then the unique experience of the Adams Morgan Neighborhood Tour is just what you need this summer! Venture into some of Washington’s most diverse residential areas with us in this tour of the Columbia Heights and Adams Morgan neighborhoods. Lastly, the beautiful area of Columbia Heights is in celebration of its Centennial which began July 21st 2020 and continues through July 21st 2021.
