This school year is set in motion and as many parents do, we wanted to know how this 2021 school year would start and proceed. The last year has been full of uncertainty, challenges for students and teachers and as parents, we want to make sure that our kids are safe and well educated all along the way whether virtual or in a classroom setting. We wanted to go over some of the 2021 school year updates with you to help set you and your kids up for success this year so here we go!

Columbia Heights has begun the school year strong with in person options for all grade levels. AppleTree Early Learning Institute is offering in person classes for all early learning education 5 days a week and after school care as well. They’re following all current CDC guidelines and are open for enrollment for your little one! https://www.appletreeinstitute.org/schools/columbia-heights/

For elementary school ages, Tubman Elementary School is now open for in person learning through the end of the school year. We know that early education is important and that socialization is crucial for development and Columbia Heights schools are taking all of the necessary precautions to ensure that our kids can return to school safely and enjoyably. For more information on Tubman’s protocols and scheduling, visit their website:

Some ideas to help parents get their kids ready for this school year are – make sure all CDC guidelines are being followed and supplies to do so are  readily available for your kids, check with the school of your choice to see what items are needed for your child to participate in classroom teaching and even help with backup supplies as you can. We know, as parents ourselves, that school can be stressful time for parents and children and the state of the world can just add to that but we’re here to help you stay informed and ready to take on the 2021 school year feeling equipped and ready to go!
