  1. I like the convenience – 5 bikershare stations within a few blocks, busses on 14th and 16th, the metro. 3 grocery stores, Target, restaurants.

I don’t like the high crime rate, esp gun violence.

I hope the crime will decrees.

    I fear it will not.

  2. I love the variety here, so many different restaurants, local stores, and box store options.

I don’t like the amount of rodents/pests (which is worse here than other parts of the city – I know it’s an issue other places).

I hope the neighborhood keeps its uniqueness through the impending development

  3. What you especially love about this neighborhood?
    – The mixture of people, the creativity of the people, the architecture of the buildings.
What you don’t like about this neighborhood?
    – The crime, constant drunkenness in columbia heights plaza, some people are mean.
What are your hopes and fears for the neighborhood?
    – That is is sliding backward. The quality of life has deteriorated in the last 3 or 4 years. From 2000 to 2016 it was getting better and better. Oddly, black and white people were working together better in the early years of my living there and now there is more tension.
