GivingTuesday is the Tuesday after Thanksgiving in the United States. It is known as a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world, encouraging people to give of their time and resources for the benefit of others and it’s a pretty awesome thing!
If you’re feeling generous this holiday season, we have a few local CoHi places that you can give to to help those in need. 2nd Avenue Thrift and Superstore is always accepting donations and has a long standing history in the area that a lot of locals know and love, Thrive DC is a local non-profit organization that offers hot meals and help to the local homeless community. It’s a great place to volunteer time or donate food and goods this season! The DC Food project is another great local organization to support. They support those that suffer with food insecurity in the school system.
There are so many great opportunities around our area to give back and we hope that you’ll open your heart and your calendar this Giving Tuesday to those in need.
