If you’re interested in working at the soon to be renovated Howard Theatre, which will host performances, a restaurant, and an education center, check out their job fair on Friday. It’s from 11am to 1pm at 623 Florida Avenue NW.
DCist has a lot more on the theatre, which was opened in 1910 and was called “the largest colored theatre in the world.” It’s been abandoned since the 1980s, and recently the city and developers joined forces to bring it back to its former glory.
The building is getting a $29 million rehab. It’s going to have a lot of big artists performing there too, including Wale, Mos Def, and Wanda Sykes.
There’s also this great before-and-after photo gallery. What a difference.
