Columbia Heights is a fun place. Yesterday afternoon I spotted a man in thong and a fringed Bernie Sanders t-shirt dancing up a storm in the big sidewalk area outside the Heights restaurant. He had a boombox playing mostly 80s hits like “Take on Me” and “Footloose” and was waving a crucifix, spinning, jumping and occasionally twerking to the bemusement of passersby.
He was having a great time and smiled for a pictures and videos taken by folks walking past, which was happening a lot. People stopped and watched from all over the intersection. I’m not sure how long he was out there — did anybody else see him?
Always something interesting going on.
