As you may have noticed these past few weeks, there’s a ton of new stuff coming in — the PORC food truck’s restaurant, the El Floridiano food truck’s restaurant and bakery, El Chucho’s Mexican food, The Pinch American restaurant, Mad Momo’s Sikkimese food, Coffy Cafe creperie, DC Reynolds bar and restaurant, and on and on.
To make it a bit easier, I’ve been maintaining this map of what’s new and recently opened in the neighborhood, to give you some idea. I’ve also coded the dots, Blue is independent, Green is a local chain, Red is a national chain, and a dot means food/bar, while no dot is retail.
You can see real clusters on 11th Street, 14th near Meridian, 14th near Perry, and of course around 14th and Irving/Park/Kenyon. There’s even a smallish one on Georgia near the Metro. And like I predicted/hoped last year, the national chains are mostly sticking to the DCUSA area, while the local spots are elsewhere.
