Little Coco’s now serves brunch, and it is pretty tasty

On Saturday I had a chance to check out Little Coco’s, the new Italian spot at 14th and Randolph from the folks behind El Chucho, Quarry House and Bar Charley — and I liked it a lot. They just launched their new brunch that morning and we really enjoyed it.

The menu has Italian takes on traditional brunch items like polenta pancakes, Italian baked eggs, “eggs benedetto” and such, as well as breakfast pizzas, salads and cocktails. I got the porchetta omelet, which came with crispy potatoes, and my fellow bruncher got the Fool’s Gold breakfast pizza with prosciutto, fig, honeycomb and pistachio. Both were really tasty. I added a Negroni and she got a pomegranate mimosa, which were good accompaniments to the meals.

We also got a bread basket, which had coffee cake, cream puffs, cornbread, herby bread and other things — it was delicious. I could have eaten three baskets myself. The waiter told us that kids have been loving that basket. Adults, too, in our case.

The coffee was also good and the service was great.

As for the place itself, it’s nice and homey, a lot like El Chucho — there’s an airy first floor and a rooftop deck that’s currently not covered, but owner Jackie Greenbaum said they’ll look to cover it in November or so — a lot like El Chucho’s roof. There’s also outdoor seating in the front area.

The full menus for brunch and dinner are on their site, with lots of drinks too.

Here’s a few more shots. I didn’t get any of the food because we scarfed it down.
