Good to see this after yesterday’s story about the multiple car fires in our neighborhood being classified as “mechanical”: the AP reports that MPD and the fire department are investigating the fires, which police and fire officials are saying seem suspicious. Unfortunately the AP article is pretty brief.
It’s nice to see this, but I’m worried that it required an email by the owner of the burned Mini Cooper to Chief Lanier to get this investigation underway. Ideally the police or FEMS would have noticed a pattern and started investigating on their own. But hey, as long as they investigate and figure out what’s going on here, I’ll be pleased.
