It’s hot out there. Super hot. The city declared a heat emergency yesterday, which means that pools will stay open later, and there will be cooling centers and shelters open as well, all through Sunday.
In our area, that means Banneker Pool on Georgia Ave is open until 9pm Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday (they’re closed Thursdays) and Upshur Pool at Upshur & Arkansas is also open until 9pm every day (they’re closed Mondays.)
