Get Christmas trees, chicken and duck eggs from CH Farmers Market vendors

The Columbia Heights Community Marketplace may be done for the season, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still buy things from them. The Community Marketplace folks posted this messages on several local listserves. Sounds like a good spot for a tree or some breakfast food, especially if you wanted to keep patronizing Community Marketplace vendors:

* Christmas trees

For those of you who might still be in search of the perfect Christmas tree, please consider the trees from Licking Creek Bend Farm, one of the growers that participates in the Marketplace. Mike Tabor’s farm grows Colorado Blue Spruce, Douglas Fir, White Pine, Canaan Fir and Con-color Fir. To order trees (as well as wreaths and roping) ranging in price from $30 to $125, contact Mike and Esther ASAP at esiegel2(at)igc.org

* Chicken and duck eggs during the winter

Ned Dykes, owner of Twin Post Farm (also a Marketplace participant) will be bringing chicken and duck eggs periodically during the winter months. Weather permitting, he will sell eggs at Domku Restaurant at 821 Upshur Strret on the following SUNDAYS from 10 a.m. until noon: December 19th and January 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th. We will keep you informed about delivery dates beyond January, or you can e-mail Ned and Eileen at ndykes112(at)aol.com
