The weather is nice, and to me that means a few things: more patio hanging, more outdoor activities, and the Columbia Heights Farmers Market.
The market reopens this Saturday from 9am-1pm, and then on May 31st the weekday market opens, running from 4-7pm each Wednesday. The market is on the Columbia Heights Civic Plaza, the triangle bounded by 14th, Park and Kenyon Streets NW.
The market has a lot of great stuff: farmers and food makers from around the area, crafts, art, music, and ready to eat food. I’m especially a fan of the various butchers and bakers there.
There’s a lot of new vendors this year too, and some familiar faces: ice cream, root beer, pickles, dog snacks, coffee, honey, dosas, empanadas, tacos and more. Looks awesome.
