ANC 1D – Mount Pleasant

ANC1D is holding its monthly meeting for September this Tuesday. They have not yet updated the agenda, but the meeting is likely to cover many hold over topics from the summer, as it is the first time they are meeting since July. We hope to hear updates regarding the improvements and potential bike lane on Harvard St, but may need to wait until they have finished reviewing the results of the traffic study.

ANC 1A – Columbia Heights

ANC1A has two committee meetings scheduled this week. On Tuesday, the Transportation Committee will meet and will be discussing the 14th St Improvement Project among other topics. A DDOT representative will also be presenting at the meeting.

On Wednesday, Commissioners Layla Bonnot and Angelica Castañon will be leading a Public Safety Committee meeting. We expect to hear comments about the recent increase in violent crime – including the unprovoked attack that fatally wounded a young woman out walking a dog, and the two separate shootings last week that left nine Columbia Heights residents dead or injured.
