826DC, our local branch of the non-profit founded by Dave Eggers that teaches kids about writing and reading, is opening its doors this Saturday for a
community open house. It’s also the first opportunity to go inside their store, called the Museum of Unnatural History, which will sell all kinds of cool and weird items, as the name implies. The open house is from noon to 4, and
826DC is located on the Columbia Heights Civic Plaza, 14th/Park/Kenyon. I’ll be there, it sounds fun!
You may remember that I posted a photo of their animal skeleton awhile ago. Apparently they have a cave also. Below is a slideshow showing the space’s transformation.
