Last night after a drink at the Looking Glass, I stopped by DC Reynolds, the new bar and restaurant coming a few doors down at 3628 Georgia Avenue NW. The place looked almost finished, and one of the owners and I chatted for a bit. He said they’re very close to opening, just getting some paperwork finished, and were hoping for a week after St. Patrick’s Day, so late March. In fact, when I was there, they were interviewing a bartender.
The owner (whose name I forgot, sorry) said they were putting the final touches on the food with their chef, and they were looking forward to opening the 1,100 square foot back patio — see the photo at right. I like the DC flag on it. It sounds like a good spot for the spring and summer. He also said they wanted it to be a neighborhood place, they were trying to get people to come in from outside the area, just around Columbia Heights, Petworth and such.
He said he’d give more details when they were closer, but I’m sure looking forward to it.
See below for a shot of the bar area before and after from their Facebook. Check it out for more details and photos of their progress.
