Where to watch March Madness in the neighborhood

As you probably have heard, March Madness, the NCAA basketball championship, is upon us. It’s my favorite sports time of the year, I love watching as many games as a I can, seeing the less-well known schools get their time in the spotlight — sometimes a long time, with runs by surprise schools like George Mason, Butler, and VCU in recent years.

So where can you watch in our area? Luckily there are a lot of options.

  • Lou’s City Bar at 14th and Irving is the first that comes to mind, it’s a true sports bar with a ton of TVs, both inside and on their covered patio.
  • Zeba Bar at 14th and Newton is another option if you want a calmer atmosphere. They have some TVs and a lot of good happy hour deals.
  • Blue Banana is another true sports bar on Georgia just south of Princeton Place, they have a lot of TVs and snacks. Generally not too crowded either.
  • Looking Glass Lounge also at Georgia and Princeton is also an option if you want a minimum of sports atmosphere, but they do have a TV over the bar.
  • Meridian Pint at 11th and Park is also a good option. They have some TVs upstairs, and a bunch downstairs. Plus there’s always the table tap.

Those are my ideas, any others? And who do you have in the tourney? I like Kentucky, but also took Wisconsin into the Final Four. We’ll see how crazy that is.
