New barbecue place Small Fry from the Sundevich folks now open at 3212 Georgia Ave

Oh man, I am excited for some BBQ. Park View DC reports that Small Fry, a new barbecue and fries concept from the folks behind the delicious Sundevich sandwich shop in Shaw, is now open.

They’re at 3212 Georgia, just up from Kenyon and next to Petworth Liquors.

The website for Small Fry isn’t up yet, but their Twitter is up and running and posting some delicious photos and a shot of the menu, which includes pulled pork, catfish, pulled chicken, sausage, poutine, Scotch eggs, haloumi cheese, mac and cheese, and more: basically lots of things that sound amazing. I have been missing Scotch eggs  (hard boiled eggs wrapped in sausage and fried) since Commonwealth closed a few years ago. (It was replaced by Acre 121.)

This is next to the coming Union Drinkery bar we heard about a while ago, and Small Fry is presumably one of the “fast casual” places that were opening in collaboration with the bar.

I’m still looking for details on hours, what the second fast casual place is, and more. Here’s their logo.

UPDATE: They are open every day but Sunday, noon to 9 pm.
