POSTPONED: Acre 121 and New Belgium launching new DC-only beer at Oct 21 event

UPDATE: The event has been postponed. Here’s a note from Acre 121. Stay tuned for the new date.

ATTN folks: much like DC voting rights, we will have to delay the beer launch a little bit longer — it is taking more time to get approval from the powers that be to bring our new product into the market than NB anticipated. We will be following up daily and announce the new release date as soon as possible.

Original post below:

This is pretty cool: the staff at Acre 121, the Southern food restaurant and bar at 1400 Irving, collaborated with New Belgium Brewing, the folks who make Fat Tire and others, to make a DC-specific brew called WetHopnation Without Representation

The beer is made with fresh, wet hops and red malts, and is a limited release only available in DC. The beer references DC’s lack of voting rights in Congress, and considering it’s made by New Belgium it’s probably pretty tasty.

They’re holding a launch event on Friday, Oct. 21 starting at 9pm with free New Belgium samples and swag and music from local band MetroSongs.
