Want to work at a new taco spot coming to Upshur Street? I just got a press release from the folks behind Taqueria del Barrio, who also run the DC Empanadas food truck. They’re aiming to open later this month and are hiring now.
The spot is taking the place of Domku and looks pretty modern from their renderings. They describe it as a neighborhood taqueria with “authentic Mexican food made with locally sourced ingredients” plus cocktails, wine and craft beer.

Taqueria del Barrio, an authentic Mexican eatery from the owners of DC Empanadas, is coming soon to Washington’s Petworth neighborhood. The restaurant announced today it is now accepting applications for front and back of house positions. Beginning today, applications are open for a variety of positions including bartenders, servers, hosts, runners/bussers, and line cooks to join the welcoming, passionate team before the restaurant’s opening later this month.

Interested applicants can also apply in person at the restaurant at 821 Upshur St NW from 11am to 2pm on Wednesday, March 8,Monday, March 13, and Wednesday, March 15.
