This is pretty great news: Park View DC reports that Marrakech is coming to 3632 Georgia Avenue NW, the space that has formerly been Walter’s, Park View Patio and the Blue Banana. It will also be next door to an Ethiopian restaurant coming to the former Gena’s salon seen above.
It’s possible this is the new location of one of the two separate places called Marrakech — a bistro and lounge in Adams Morgan and the recently-closed restaurant in Dupont known for its food and belly dancing. The two places were not related to each other, and I’ll update if I confirm.
In any case, it’s nice to have something fill the Walter’s space, and I hope it’s successful. One of the issues before was a lack of a kitchen, we’ll see if they change that.
According to their liquor board filing (scroll down), they’ll have 82 seats total, including 20 outside. I assume that would be out back.
