You may remember that President Obama visited the Coupe on 11th Street NW a few years ago, as part of an event about small businesses — and the restaurant has a photo of the visit when you come in. And a few days ago they came back, talking with the directors of their new Netflix movie American Factory about a Chinese businessman buying a factory in Ohio.
I’m not sure when it was filmed, but it’s neat to see the Obamas sitting in our neighborhood again. They’ve actually visited multiple times, including local schools and restaurants. Michelle, for example, ate at Maydan on Florida Avenue not long ago.
